The Palmyra R-1 School District is looking for a AM ECSE & PM Vo-Tech route bus driver for the 2025-2026 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Missouri Commercial Drivers License with āSā endorsement.
- Minimum age requirement of twenty-one (21) years.
- Maximum age of seventy (70) years unless satisfactorily passing an annual medical and written and driving examination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES AS BUS DRIVER
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
- Transport students over specified routes according to an established time schedule.
- Operate vehicle in a safe and professional manner in accordance with Missouri Motor Vehicle Laws.
- Perform required pre- and post-trip inspections per checklists.
- Report maintenance problems to mechanic or director as soon as detected.
- Report immediately any school bus accident to the transportation director, remaining with the bus throughout any investigation.
- Maintain clean and unobstructed, interior and exterior, conditions on bus at all times.
- Supervise riders while maintaining order and discipline in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in required annual training.
- Participate in random drug and alcohol testing.
- Undergo a physical examination annually by a licensed physician.
- Possess the following physical abilities: sitting for long periods of time, frequent bending and twisting or torso and neck, repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements, occasional lifting up to 75 pounds, use of all types of vision (close, distance, peripheral) as well as depth perception.
- Ability to work in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to drive in all types of weather and conditions (ie. rain, sleet, ice, and snow).
- Ability to work in an area with a high noise level including engine noise and the sound of many children speaking; the need to raise your voice may be necessary.
EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCE/EMPLOYMENT
An annual evaluation of performance to determine re-employment will be conducted by the Director of Transportation in consultation with the Superintendent.
