The Palmyra R-1 School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Music Teacher to join our team for the 2026–27 school year. This full-time position serves students in grades 5–12 and includes instruction in band, vocal music, and additional elective music courses.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach band, vocal, and elective music courses for grades 5–12
  
  
• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based music instruction
  
  
• Direct and support student performances, concerts, and related activities
  
  
• Collaborate with colleagues to support a strong, well-rounded music program
  
  
• Foster a positive learning environment for all students
  

Qualifications

• Hold, be eligible for, or be willing to work toward appropriate Missouri teacher certification in Music (preference will be given to individuals who currently hold a valid teaching certificate in this content area)
  
  
• Strong musical background in instrumental and vocal performance
  
  
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
  
  
• Commitment to student growth, program development, and community engagement
